LAPD Rescue Young Kids after Chase, Standoff with Kidnapping Suspect

A suspect wanted in connection with a kidnapping case led LAPD officers on a chase through South Los Angeles before surrendering following a standoff.

Los Angeles police rescued two children following a standoff and chase Tuesday.

A news helicopter captured LAPD officers pursing the suspect and two children in a white SUV as it sped through South Los Angeles just before 8:30 p.m., KTTV reports. The suspect eventually surrendered to police after a brief standoff, and a 5-year-old and a 1-year-old were taken from the vehicle.

According to police, the suspect was wanted in connection with a kidnapping case.
