LAPD officers located a 4-year-old boy who was inside a vehicle in a Starbucks parking lot in Los Angeles' Van Nuys neighborhood when it was carjacked.
LAPD officers located a 4-year-old boy who was briefly kidnapped in a carjacking in a coffee shop parking lot Tuesday.
The incident happened at about 2 p.m. outside a Starbucks in Los Angeles' Van Nuys neighborhood, KTTV-TV reports. The boy was inside a vehicle in the parking lot when a man carjacked it.
The suspect in the carjacking took off and drove erratically before crashing into another vehicle and finally stopping in Panorama City. The other driver in the collision followed the suspect and then called police.
The boy was found by LAPD officers and reunited with his family. Video footage from the scene shows officers comforting the boy, who is seen holding a teddy bear.
Police caught up and apprehended the suspect, who is believed to be homeless.
