Off-Duty Atlanta Police Officer Fatally Shoots Man in Struggle over Gun

Although off duty, the Atlanta police officer was in uniform and wearing a body camera while working at an approved job when he was in a struggle over his gun with a man at a restaurant.
An off-duty Atlanta police officer fatally shot a man who allegedly struggled over the officer's gun at a restaurant Wednesday.
The incident happened just before 3 p.m. at the Roasters Rotisserie restaurant in northeast Atlanta, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Although off-duty, the police officer was in uniform and outfitted with his body-worn camera while he was working at an approved job at a nearby business.
According to police, the officer was called to the restaurant and was in a discussion with the man there. A struggle over the officer's immediately ensued, lasting several minutes.
During the struggle, the man was shot by the officer. The man, who a witness said was shot multiple times, was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
The officer was uninjured in the incident. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the shooting.
