Are you ready for some football? Canadian law enforcement style.

Dashboard and body camera footage captured a York Regional Police officer in Ontario sneaking up and tackling a motorcyclist who was accused of leaving a crash scene last week. 

"You could say our officers are happy the NFL is back," the department stated in social media post that included the video footage.

NFL? What about the Canadian Football League?

The incident happened just after 1:40 p.m. Sept. 9 when police responded to a collision involving a motorcycle in Richmond Hills, according to the department. The motorcyclist was told to return to the scene to exchange information, but he rode away, even though he was told he was under arrest.

After about 10 minutes, an officer located the suspect, sitting on his motorcycle on the roadway shoulder. Parking a short distance away, the officer crept up behind the suspect and executed a blindside tackle.

"Rule number 1 of football: keep your head on a swivel," the department stated.

Once the suspect was in custody, an officer displayed the motorcycle's license plate, which read "RUN THIS." According to police, the plate was unauthorized.

The suspect faces multiple charges, including failure to stop after accident, flight from a peace officer and driving without insurance.
