Suspect Accused of Shooting Ga. Police Officer Turns Self In

A 25-year-old man accused of shooting Clayton County Police Officer Ryan Richey during an armed robbery call at a shopping center in Riverdale turned himself in hours after the incident.

Authorities have taken a suspect into custody in connection with the shooting of a Georgia police officer and another individual during an armed robbery Wednesday.

Arterio Crumbley, 25, turned himself into police hours after a shooting involving Clayton County Police Officer Ryan Richey who was responding to reports of an armed robbery call, WSB-TV reports. The incident happened at 2 p.m. at a shopping center in Riverdale, and an unidentified victim also was injured.

Richey required surgery following the shooting, but he has since been released from the hospital. No details were released concerning the other victim.
