WARNER ROBINS, Georgia -- A Warner Robins Police officer was shot Thursday morning, prompting an hours-long standoff that ended with a suspect taken into custody, according to Houston County Sheriff Matt Moulton.

In a press release, the Warner Robins Police Department said the suspect barricaded inside a home on Redmond Street, a residential area near Armed Force Boulevard and approximately two blocks from Green Street, according to WMAZ-TV.

 A 31-year-old woman was also shot during the incident, authorities said.

At approximately 11 a.m., the suspect was taken into custody following a standoff involving the Warner Robins Police Department, the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), according to police.

Warner Robins Police Chief Wayne Fisher identified the suspect as 21-year-old Deshuan Williams. Fisher said information regarding charges would be released by the GBI, which is leading the investigation. No charges were announced at the time of publication.
