Ga. Police Officer Shot while Responding to Armed Robbery
A Georgia police officer was shot while responding to an armed robbery Wednesday.
The shooting involved a Clayton County police officer, and it happened at a shopping center in Riverdale, WXIA-TV reports. Police were called to that area because of reports of an armed robbery.
An officer and a robbery victim were shot during the incident, WSB-TV reports. They were taken to the hospital, and their injuries weren't considered life-threatening.
Authorities were searching for the suspect following the shooting, according to WXIA. A photo was released of the suspect, who was said to be wearing all yellow.
Three schools in the area were placed on lockdown as a precaution.
