Video: Texas Police Dispatchers Nearly Struck by Tesla

A Tesla nearly struck two Texas police dispatchers outside a municipal building after the driver fell asleep at the wheel.

A closed circuit camera captured the April 6 incident outside Hamlin's City Hall, KMSP-TV reports. Two Hamlin police dispatchers were standing on a sidewalk outside the building, where the police department is headquartered. 

In the video, the dispatchers are seen entering the building seconds after a Tesla barrels onto the sidewalk and slams into the corner of City Hall. The crash knocked down all the awning pills on the building.

According to police, the driver had been returning to his home in New Mexico when the crash happened. As he was driving into Hamlin, he had fallen asleep at the wheel and lost control of the vehicle.
