NORTH CAROLINA-Police Officer David Parde, succumbed to complications from an injury sustained on May 5, 1992. While on duty for the Lexington Police Department Officer Parde was investigating a suspicious subject at an apartment building. Three teenagers were seen knocking on doors and pretending to deliver pizza. Officer Parde and another officer looked for the subjects, located them, and one shot Officer Parde. The round entered his shoulder, causing severe damage to his spine; he was paralyzed from his chest down.
The subjects were arrested and convicted of the crime.
Officer Parde served with the Lexington Police Department for a little for over two years. He is survived by his wife, son, grandchildren, mother, and siblings.
