MASSACHUSETTS-Police Officer Manny Familia, of the Worcester Police Department, died June 4, 2021. Officer Familia drowned while trying to rescue a child that had gone underwater in a pond. Three juveniles had become distressed while in the water. Officer Familia and other officers took the call and attempted to save all of the juveniles. Officer Familia's body was recovered later on as was one of the children.
Officer Familia served with the Worcester Police Department for 5 years and his survived by his wife and children.
