Fla. Motorcycle Officer Seriously Injured in Crash

According to Tampa police, a Honda Accord cut off an officer traveling in the Ybor City neighborhood and collided with his police motorcycle.

A Florida motorcycle officer was seriously injured when another vehicle collided with him Thursday.

The crash happened as a Tampa police officer was traveling on his motorcycle in the Ybor City neighborhood, WTSP-TV reports. According to police, a 54-year-old woman in a Honda Accord cut in front of the officer, colliding with the motorcycle.

The officer suffered serious injuries in the crash, including a possible broken femur. He was taken to the hospital, but no details were given about his condition.

The driver of the Accord was uninjured and is expected to be cited in the incident.
