A suspect on a stolen motorcycle probably wishes he had topped off the tank after he ran out of gas while fleeing Illinois deputies last week.

The incident happened just before 6:30 a.m. Aug. 6 when a Peoria County sheriff's deputies spotted a motorcycle with no registration, the agency stated in an online news release that included dashboard camera footage. When a traffic stop was attempted, the suspect sped off, kicking off a chase.

The pursuit, however, didn't end well for the suspect.

"Unfortunately for him, the stolen motorcycle ran out of gas while attempting to flee from our deputy," the agency stated.

Once the motorcycle stopped, a deputy jumped out of his vehicle and brought the suspect to the ground. He was wanted for felony warrants, and he faces additional charges, including fleeing and eluding, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
