The New Jersey Attorney General's Office released body camera footage of a deadly June clash that left two police officers injured and the gunman dead.

An Atlantic City police SWAT unit were serving a search warrant at a home just before 3 p.m. June 2 when the shooting happened, according to a news release by the attorney general's office. When police reached the scene, they announced themselves before using a mechanical device to breach the door.

Once the door opened, the suspect, identified as Donald Gardner, opened fire. One officer was struck in the helmet, and another was wounded in the leg by the gunfire.

A third officer returned fire, and Gardner was struck. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and a handgun was recovered from the home.

The wounded officers were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover. This month, Sgt. Christian Ivanov, who was seriously wounded in the leg, received the Sgt. Eric D. Wise Memorial Award for Leadership from the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

The incident is still under investigation.
