"Someone described it almost as if a trap door opened, and it fell that way. Not away from the structure, but straight down, which gave them almost no time to react," Steven Lewis, a spokesman with the U.S. Marshal Service for Missouri's Eastern District, told KMIZ-TV at the time.
Four marshals, two drug task force members and a Moberly police were injured in the collapse and taken to the hospital. Some of the injured might require surgery, according to Lewis.
"All received injuries that would be consistent with a pretty serious fall," he said. "Some broken bones, some other type injuries."
One person was taken into custody at the apartment building. Another person was apprehended in connection with the call later that same day.
No civilians were injured in the incident.
