Texas Police Officer Opens Fire after Suspects Hit Him with Car

A Schertz police officer was investigating a report of car burglaries when two suspects tried to run him down in their car, hitting him in the leg.
A Texas police officer fired shots at two suspects after they allegedly tried to run him down in their vehicle early Friday.
The incident happened at about 2 a.m. after a Schertz police officer was checking out a report of car burglaries, KSAT-TV reports. As the officer was investigating, he encountered a two men in a car who began driving toward him.
The officer was struck in the leg by the vehicle, and he opened fire at the suspects. No one was struck by the gunfire, but the vehicle did stop when the officer began shooting.
An 18-year-old man was arrested by police. The second suspect fled the scene and was still at large.
