Texas Police Officers Stop Sexual Assault by Armed Suspect

When Conroe police responded to a call of an assault at a home, officers heard a woman screaming inside, and they discovered her being held in a headlock by an armed man.

Two Texas police officers stopped an armed suspect from sexually assaulting a woman inside a home Monday, fatally shooting the man.

The incident happened at about midnight when Conroe police responded to a report of an assault at a residence, KPRC-TV reports. At the home, officers heard a woman screaming inside, and they entered.

Inside, the officers discovered a woman being held in a headlock by an armed man. According to police, the suspect was attempting to sexually assault the woman in front of the officers.

The woman was able to get away from the man during the assault, and police tried to de-escalate the situation. The suspect then pointed his gun at police, and the two officers opened fire, fatally shooting the man.

The officers and the woman were not injured in the incident. The shooting is under investigation, according to police.
