Chicago Police Stop Sexual Assault, Apprehend Suspected Offender

Chicago police received a call concerning a sexual assault on the city's South Side, and when officers arrived at the scene, they stopped a man from attacking a woman.

Chicago police stopped a sexual assault on the city's South Side and apprehended a suspect over the weekend.

The incident happened shortly after 8:45 p.m. Sunday when the department received a call concerning a sexual assault in the Jeffery Manor neighborhood, WGN-TV reports. As officers reached the scene, they found an offender beating and sexually assaulting a woman 24-year-old woman 

Police were able to stop the assault and take a suspect into custody. The incident is under investigation by Area Two detectives. 

The woman suffered facial injuries and was taken to the hospital in fair condition.
