Fla. Deputies Arrest DoorDash Driver, Then Finish His Delivery

Knock, knock.
A hungry Florida woman got an unexpected caller the other day, according to a Sunday Facebook post from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
The post says that “deputies went above and beyond” after arresting a DoorDash driver who was in the process of delivering food.
Pictures, as well as a TikTok video, show an HCSO deputy knocking on the door of the Tampa area home — then posing with the plastic bag and the happy customer smiling.
The unnamed driver had two outstanding warrants at the time of the arrest, the agency said.
And no, the law enforcement officer was not compensated for his service.
“Too bad the officer didn’t get paid for the delivery,” someone commented.
“Good job hope he got the tip as well,” said another.
Another social media user joked that moonlighting cops should become a trend: “I‘m telling you, DeputyDelivery is an opportunity waiting to happen.”
Still, another couldn’t help but remark how surprising it must have been to look through the peephole and see a cop.
“That person was probably like...”
This isn’t the first time an officer had to step in to get someone fed. Last month in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, a ring camera caught a police officer walking up to a home with an Arby’s order after the driver was arrested “for stuff he didn’t take care of.” The video went viral.
Your move, HCSO.
