LAPD officers fatally shot a knife-wielding suspect last month who had stabbed one person and was struggling with another he was threatening to kill when police arrived.

The incident happend at about 9:35 p.m. Sept. 12, when LAPD officers were called about a stabbing at a residence, the department stated in a news release. When police arrived at the scene, they found a male with stab wounds inside the home.

Officers discovered the suspect, who still had a knife, was in the bedroom with another male. More officers were called to the scene, and a team was set up to take the suspect into custody.

As the officers approached the bedroom, they saw the other person and the suspect struggling over a knife. The suspect also was threatening to kill the male.

Police ordered the suspect to surrender, but he refused. Officers opened fire, and the suspect was struck, dropping the knife.

Body camera footage capturing the incident was recently released.

Medical aid was immediately rendered, but the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The stabbed male was rushed to the hospital and was in stable condition.

No officers were injured during the incident. The shooting is under investigation.
