Video: 2 Okla. Deputies Wounded in Frantic Shootout at Trailer Home
Two Logan County sheriff's deputies were shot and wounded when gunshots erupted while they were responding to a report of a couple fighting at a trailer home.
A man with a gun was fatally shot by Colorado Springs police after he allegedly broke into vehicles and threatened community members in the parking lot across from the downtown post office.
Two Oklahoma deputies were wounded in a shootout with an armed man during a domestic disturbance call earlier this month that left the suspect dead.
The incident happened at around 1:30 p.m. April 2 when Logan County sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a fight between a couple at a trailer home, KWTV-TV reports. When deputies reached the scene, a woman told them that the suspect—identified as Jeremy Dean Barnett—was hiding near the pool.
As the deputies approach Barnett's location, shots are fired, and two deputies were struck by gunfire. In body camera footage from the incident, blood can be seen dripping on the hands on one of the wounded deputies.
A third deputy returned fire, and Barnett was struck, according to KFOR-TV. The suspect fled and hid, and an aviation unit was called in to locate him. When Barnett was found, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
