Bodycam: Armed Man Opens Fire on Ohio Police Outside Pub

A 39-year-old suspect was critically wounded by Columbus police officers who were responding to a report of a man firing shots at a restaurant.

Ohio police shot and wounded an armed man who opened fire on officers outside a pub over the weekend.

The incident happened shortly after midnight Saturday after Columbus police responded to a report of a man firing shots into a restaurant, WBNS-TV reports. When police arrived at the scene, an officer exited his unit, prompting a 39-year-old man to begin shooting.

The suspect fired multiple shots at police, and officers repeatedly ordered the man to drop his weapon. Backup arrived after around two minutes, and officers finally returned fire.

The suspect was struck several times in the exchange. Officers began rendering aid to the man and handcuffed him.

The suspect was taken to the hospital in critical condition. He's expected to survive, and he's been charged with three counts of felonious assault.
