Two Florida sheriff's deputies suffered minor injuries when an accused intoxicated driver slammed into their cruiser at the scene of a previous crash early Saturday.

The incident, which was captured on a body-worn camera, happened as two Volusia County sheriff's deputies working an earlier traffic accident along U.S. 17, the agency stated in a social media post. That's when an alleged DUI driver rear-ended the deputies' vehicle.

The crash knocked one deputy into the cruiser's dashboard and sent another deputy to the ground. Both deputies were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and soreness.

Following the crash, the driver showed obvious signs of impairment and couldn't complete a field sobriety test, the department said. He was arrested and charged with DUI with injury and refusal to submit to testing with a prior refusal.
