Two Florida deputies avoided injury last week when they jumped out of the way of a suspected drunken driver who crashed into a cruiser during an unrelated traffic stop.

Collier County sheriff's deputies were conducting a stop at around 11:30 Wednesday, according to the agency. That's when another vehicle barreled toward them, slamming into the rear of one of the stopped cruisers. 

"Get away! Get away!" one of the deputies is heard yelling in body camera footage from the incident.

The two deputies and the driver in the initial stop were able to scramble out of the way. They weren't injured in the crash.

"This incident is a stark reminder of the dangers our deputies face during everyday tasks that most people might consider routine," the sheriff's office stated. "A simple traffic stop can turn into a life-threatening situation in an instant."

The driver who crashed into the cruiser was charged with driving under the influence.
