Police Gear Stolen from Off-Duty Mass. Officer's Locked Vehicle
A Massachusetts police department is trying to track down police gear that was stolen from an off-duty officer's locked vehicle early Sunday.
Cambridge police officers responded to an alarm at a commercial building shortly before 5:30 a.m., the department stated in a news release. Once at the scene, police found evidence of a break and then discovered an abandoned Mercedes SUV that had been stolen from the business nearby.
As the investigation continued, police found that an off-duty officer's locked personal vehicle also had been broken into. A ballistic vest, ammunition, a police ID card and other items were stolen from the vehicle.
Along with the officer's stolen gear, police are also searching for a black Ford Taurus that was taken from the commercial building.
