Footage from a security camera captured a car pulling up and a person jumping out before Chicago Police Officer Areanah Preston was fatally shot on her front lawn after a shift.

Security camera video captured a Chicago police officer as she returns home, moments before she was fatally shot on her front lawn early Saturday.

Chicago Police Officer Areanah Preston had been with the department for three years and was days away from earning her criminal justice master's degree from Loyola when she was killed. In the footage, she can be seen pulling up outside her home in the Avalon Park neighborhood after finishing her shift, WLS-TV reports.

As she crosses the street to reach her house, another vehicle pulls up quickly and a person jumps out. The car then speeds off. Preston was shot multiple times on her front lawn.

Four people were taken into custody in connection with the shooting following an hourslong SWAT standoff Sunday. A fifth suspect also was arrested, and another man is still being sought, WBBM-TV reports.

Although Preston had finished her shift when she was killed, the Chicago Police Department says it is considering her death in the line of duty. A vigil for her is set for Tuesday.
