ARU-285T

The Unalaska Fire Department, an island-based department off the Alaska coast, has taken delivery of a new Foster Rescue Products ARU-285T tandem axle Auxiliary Rescue Unit. The unit features a 20 HP Honda gasoline engine and 10 KW alternator, powering twin Fini utility air compressors, two Magnafire 3000 900-watt lights, and an Amkus single line hydraulic pump.  A 5000 psi Honda-powered breathing air compressor, four 5000 psi DOT tanks, and a Class 4 front-mounted two-position containment provide for SCBA refills. Two 26 ton airbags and a Hurst airbag control console provide lifting power. A 150-foot Hannay electric reel with Circle D outlet box, and a 150-foot utility compressed air reel are mounted on the upper deck. The department will mount their own hydraulic reel and hydraulic extrication tools.
