A Georgia police drone is credited with helping officers last week apprehend an armed man accused of pointing a gun at woman.

The initial incident in Snellville happened at about 1 p.m. Tuesday when a suspect, identified as Calvin Millbrooks, aimed a gun at a woman he knew and smasehd her car window before fleeing, WSB-TV reports. Snellville poince located Millbrooks at his hous around two hours later.

Officers deployed a drone to surveill the residence from nearly 200 feet high. The drone found Millbrooks sitting on a chair in the garage, and he appeared to be unarmed.

That's when police moved in, and Millbrook was taken into custody without incident.

"Without the drone, we would’ve been going in blind," Lt. Trey Downs told WSB. "We may not have even known that he was in the garage."

After Millbrook was arrested, officers recovered a gun that was in a bag strapped across his body.

"We saw him come out, saw him sit down in the chair, saw him playing on his phone, and we knew that was the right time to go and make the arrest," said Downs.
