TAMPA, Florida -- Newly released video shows the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit rescue an 18-year-old jet ski operator who was injured and unable to reboard his watercraft on Sunday.
Deputies located the individual in the water after he fell from the jet ski and sustained injuries to his feet that prevented him from getting back on board, according to a news release.
Marine Unit deputies brought him safely onto their vessel and provided first aid.
Hillsborough County Fire Rescue then transferred the individual to its vessel for additional medical care, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The response highlights the operational role of marine units in waterway incidents, including rapid location, safe recovery, immediate medical assistance, and coordinated handoffs with fire-rescue partners.
