Florida deputies saved an unresponsive swimmer in the ocean over the weekend, and body camera footage captured the rescue.

The incident happened at around 10:15 a.m. Saturday when Volusia County sheriff's deputies were flagged down in New Smyrna Beach, the agency stated in a social media post that included the bodycam footage. A 68-year-old woman had been in distress while swimming in the ocean and was floating face down in the water.

The deputies quickly pulled her to shore and, once on land, found that she was unresponsive and had no pulse. They immediately began CPR and were able to revive the woman.

Crews from Volusia County Beach Safety joined the deputies and took over life-saving measures. The woman was rushed to the hospital in stable condition.

"This serves as a powerful reminder that alert beachgoers, like those who spotted the woman and quickly alerted deputies, can make all the difference," the sheriff's office stated, "Life-saving awards are forthcoming for the deputies involved for their heroic actions."
