A naked man fought with Las Vegas police officers before stealing a cruiser and critically injuring two people in a crash late Tuesday.
Police responded to a call about a naked man on the road at about 11 p.m., KLAS-TV reports. When police reached the scene, the man began punching one of the officers. The confrontation was captured on video by a bystander.
During the struggle with the officer, the naked man was able to get into a police cruiser and speed off.
“I was just glad the cop didn’t get run over,” the bystander who recorded the clash told KLAS. “It’s like real life Grand Theft Auto.”
Police pursued the suspect for over 5 miles before the man crossed the center line and drove into oncoming traffic. He ran a red light and collided with another vehicle.
The suspect was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. A driver and passenger in the other vehicle were critically injured in the crash, with the passenger suffering paralysis on the right side of his body.
The suspect is facing charges, including endangering people/property and grand larceny of a motor vehicle. He's expected to appear in court Thursday.
