Video: LAPD Chase Ends with Camera Crew Popping Out of Cruisers

Aug. 31, 2023
A pursuit between LAPD officers and the driver of a stolen vehicle that lasted nearly an hour ended with a camera crew apparently jumping out of cruisers.

A car chase with the LAPD and a stolen vehicle Wednesday ended in a very Hollywood way as a TV camera crew jumped out of cruisers to record the aftermath.

Police began pursuing a driver in a stolen Toyota Camry at about 8:30 p.m. in West Covina after officers tried to pull over the vehicle, KABC-TV reports. During the chase, police appeared to be trying to use a PIT maneuver to stop the suspect, who continued to accelerate.

The pursuit last for nearly an hour when the vehicle partially pinned the stolen vehicle. Once the chase came to a stop, a camera crew appeared to exit cruisers and began recording the suspect's surrender to police. It's unclear what new outlet or show the camera crew represented.
