Denver Police SUV Flips while Pursuing Shooting Suspect

In an effort to stop a shooting suspect from fleeing, a Denver police vehicle was involved in a rollover crash that sent two officers to the hospital with minor injuries.

Officers pursuing a shooting suspect in west Denver on Thursday afternoon crashed a patrol vehicle, and the suspect was later caught and taken into custody.

The shooting happened in the Barnum area of West First Avenue and North Knox Court, police said. The shooting victim, a man, was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.

Officer responding to the shooting spotted a vehicle they believed was being driven by the shooting suspect and pursued it, police said.

“During an attempt to stop the suspect vehicle, the police vehicle rolled,” police said.

Two officers were taken to a local hospital with “minor injuries.”

The shooting suspect was taken into custody in the Westwood area of South Tennyson Street and West Tennessee Avenue, police said.

An investigation is ongoing. There were no other injuries in the incident.
