A Door Dash driver found asleep in her car sped away from Spring Hill police officers and led them on a 40-mile chase that ended near the Alabama border.

A food delivery driver led Tennessee police on a nearly 40-mile chase.

The incident happened at a Spring Hill Taco Bell, just outside of Nashville, WKRN-TV reports. Police were called to the restaurant for a welfare after workers reported a woman in the parking lot who had been asleep in her car for around an hour.

When officers approached the 62-year-old woman and tried to get her to exit her car, she backed up and tried to flee, but a patrol car blocked her way. Officers tried to pull the woman out of the car, but she sped away.

Police gave chase, and dashcam footage showed her running through stop signs and driving on both sides of the road. The speed of the chase ranged between 12 mph and 80 mph.

“It’s not normal driving behavior,” Spring Hill Police Lt. Mike Foster told WKRN. “It’s a pretty good indicator that she is under the influence of something.”

Tennessee Highway Patrol Maury County officers joined the pursuit about 13 miles from the Tennessee-Alabama border. Finally, a trucker helped stop the woman on the highway.

Officers tried to break one of the car's window, and the woman eventually was pulled out of the vehicle. The woman was taken into custody and booked into the Williamson County Jail.
