Tree falls on Upper Arlington police cruiser

Severe weather damaged an Upper Arlington police cruiser Tuesday when a falling tree struck the vehicle, but the officer inside escaped injury.

An Ohio police officer had a close call during a recent storm when a tree fell on their cruiser.

The incident involving an Upper Arlington police officer happened Tuesday morning as severe weather tore through the area, according to a department social media post. The storm brought down a tree, which landed on top of the officer's cruiser.

"Thankfully, the officer was not injured," stated the department, which also posted a photo of the tree-covered unit.

Tuesday's storm had the city responding to over 100 reports of downed trees, downed power lines, power outages and property damage, according to the municipality. Police, as well as firefighters and other city workers, continued to responded to storm-related issues in the community Wednesday.
