Mo. Police Officer Injured in Collision with Another Vehicle

A crash between a Kansas City Police Department cruiser and another vehicle shut down two lanes of Interstate 70 and sent an officer and another driver to the hospital.

A Kansas City, MO, police officer and another driver were injured in a collision along Interstate 70 on Thursday.

Two eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 in Kansas City were shut down Thursday morning after a two-vehicle crash involving a Kansas City Police Department vehicle.

The collision occurred just before 9:15 a.m. on I-70 near Manchester Trafficway, the Missouri Department of Transportation in Kansas City posted on Twitter. Two eastbound lanes of I-70 are closed and authorities are asking drivers to expect delays in the area.

The officer and the other driver were transported to a hospital with injuries that did not appear life-threatening, said Officer Donna Drake, a spokeswoman with the Kansas City Police Department.
