N.J. Police Officer Injured in 'Serious Crash'

A police officer was hospitalized after being involved in a serious crash Thursday on Route 130 in South Brunswick, authorities said.

The officer was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, South Brunswick police said on the department’s Twitter page. The condition of the officer was not released.

Motorists should avoid Route 130 northbound from Route 522 to Deans Rhode Hall Road for at least two hours, according to an alert from township police issued around 2:30 p.m. Only one lane was open as police investigated at the scene.
