Video: Driver Fleeing Ohio Police Crashes into Cruisers

A driver trying to flee Ohio police crashed into two cruisers that were blocking the vehicle's path last week.

The incident happened Thursday after a Reynoldsburg police officer spotted a vehicle driving erratically and tried to intentionally run into a cruiser at a high speed, the department said in an online statement. The officer avoided the vehicle and then began pursuit.

Dashboard camera video released Monday shows a second police cruiser traveling toward the chase, which was headed toward him. As the second officer approaches, the first cruiser can be seen driving in front of the vehicle.

Both cruisers then block the path of the vehicle, forcing the drive to try to crash through them. The collision with the cruiser caused the vehicle to flip on its side.

The suspect was taken into custody, but no details about charges were released.

"RPD officers risk their health and safety each day while serving our community," the department stated. "Their professionalism and heroism is commendable."
