Md. Police Officer Shot Serving Warrant in Attempted Murder Case
A Maryland police officer was shot trying to serve a warrant at a home early Wednesday.
The incident happened shortly after 6 a.m. as a Laurel police were at a residence serving a warrant in an attempted murder case, WTTG-TV reports. When officers announced themselves, shots were fired from inside the house.
An officer was struck by the gunfire and was taken to the hospital. No details were given about the extent of the injuries or the officer's condition.
Police were able to take a man into custody following the shooting. No other injuries were reported.
