A Louisiana police officer was shot and killed Friday while serving a warrant for an alleged cyberstalker.

Vivian Police Officer Marc Brock was among the officers serving a warrant for cyberstalking at the house of Nicolas Alexander, KTBS-TV reports. As the officers reached the home, they were met with shots fired through a closed door.

Brock was struck by the gunfire and rushed to the hospital, where he later died.

A standoff ensued involving nearly 50 Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office units following the shooting, according to the Shreveport Times. Alexander barricading himself inside the house. He finally surrendered after roughly two hours, and he was taken into custody.

"Officer Brock stood for justice, compassion, and integrity — values that will continue to inspire us all," the sheriff's office stated in a social media post about the officer's death. "Though he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the safety he helped preserve."

A Meal Train campaign has been created "to help lift even a small burden from Marc’s family," according to the campaign's landing page. As of Saturday afternoon, the campaign had earned over $8,700, well ahead of its $5,000 goal.
