A Virginia police officer was shot in the leg while responding to a domestic violence call at an apartment complex Friday.
A Chesterfield County police officer was taken to the hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, the department stated in a news release posted to social media. A brief barricade situation ensued following the shooting, and the suspect was finally taken into custody.
No other injuries were reported from the incident.
The investigation is ongoing and charges for the suspect are pending," the department stated.
