A gas station's security camera captured a Boca Raton police officer quickly performing the Heimlich maneuver when a man choking on his lunch ran up him.

A Florida police officer saved a choking man who ran to the officer for help Thursday.

The rescue happened Thursday when a Boca Raton police officer was at the station, standing by the car wash, the department stated in an online post. That's when a man, who had started choking on his lunch, ran up to him.

The officer quickly performed the Heimlich maneuver and dislodged the food. The incident was captured on the station's security camera.

According to police, the man "expressed how grateful he is that the officer was there in his moment of need."
