Colo. Officer On Way to Work Dies in Crash

Lochbuie Police Officer Michael Anderson was killed in a crash while on his way to work to begin his shift Friday night.

For the first time in its more than four-decade existence, the Lochbuie Police Department in Colorado has lost an active police officer.

Officer Michael Anderson was killed in a crash at 168th and Lima in Brighton in Adams County while on his way to work to begin his shift Friday night, according to KDVR-TV.

The Colorado State Patrol is currently investigating the incident.

Anderson is survived by a daughter.
