What to know

• Wauwatosa police removed seven teens from a vacant Radisson Hotel on Nov. 11 after responding to a trespassing call during an urban exploration.

• Officers found the teens, ages 16 to 19, hiding in multiple rooms, including two dressed in Care Bear costumes who were detained.

• All seven were arrested and later cited for trespassing; no criminal charges were filed.

Wisconsin police cleared out seven teenagers from a vacant hotel last month, including two teens dressed in Care Bear costumes.

The incident happened just after 12:30 a.m. Nov. 11 when Wauwatosa police responded to a trespassing call at a Radisson Hotel that had shut down in 2024, WISN-TV reports. Once at the scene, officers began searching the building's floors, clearing out teens hiding in multiple rooms.

The teens had been in the vacant hotel as part of an urban exploration, recording videos of their adventures. That included a girl who was hiding "because she was afraid of being tackled" by police, as well as two teens dressed in colorful Care Bear costumes who were handcuffed by officers. (Editor's note: The teens' Care Bear belly emblems were obscured in body camera footage, but judging by the color, they were possibly dressed as the on-the-nose Oopsy Bear or, ironically, Lucky Bear.)

The teens, who ranged in ages from 16 to 19, were arrested, but no charges were filed. The seven were ticketed for trespassing.
