Video: Ohio Trooper Uses Cruiser to Stop Wrong-Way Driver on Interstate

A 34-year-old man was fatally shot by Union Township police after an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper used a cruiser to stop the suspect as he drove the wrong way on Interstate 275.

Ohio police clashed with a wrong-way driver last month after using a cruiser to stop the vehicle as headed down the interstate.

The incident happened at about 11 p.m. April 1 when Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers and Union Township police officers responded to a call concerning a driver traveling the wrong way on the should along Interstate 275, WKRC-TV reports. When the 34-year-old driver wouldn't stop for police, a trooper collided with the vehicle to stop it against the median.

After the crash, officers ran to the vehicles with guns drawn. That's when the driver displayed a firearm, and officers opened fire, fatally shooting the driver.

A dog that was in her car didn't appear to be hurt.

No officers were injured in the incident. An uninjured dog also was found in the car.
