Bodycams Capture Violent Assault on Seattle Police Officers

Dec. 7, 2023
A 50-year-old man is accused of attacking Seattle police officers after they responded to a report that the man had allegedly punched a passerby and assaulted another person.

The Seattle Police Department released body camera footage this week that captured a violent assault on officers in October.

The incident happened just before 8:30 p.m. Oct. 30 when Seattle police responded to a report of a man who had punched a passerby and assaulted another person, KOMO-TV reports. When police confronted the 50-year-old suspect, he threatened officers and appeared if he was preparing to fight before fleeing on foot.

Police caught up with the suspect after about a half block, and when two officers tried to take him into custody, he attacked them. He also tried to put another officer on the ground before he was subdued and taken into custody.

No officers were injured in the incident.
