PHOENIX--The Phoenix Police Department on Thursday released body camera video of an officer being ambushed last week.

The incident that occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Feb. 11 led to nine officers injured, a woman fatally shot and the suspect reportedly taking his own life, according to KNXV-TV.

When the first police officer approached the home near 51st Avenue and Elwood Street, Morris Richard Jones III can be seen pulling a gun and firing at the officer. The officer was able to retreat to safety as additional officers arrived and surrounded the residence.

A man, who was later identified as the female victim's brother, was then seen coming outside the front door, placing a one-month-old baby outside the residence. The man then went to nearby officers who detained him. He is not believed to be facing any charges in the incident.

As officers moved in to secure the infant, Jones opened fire again from inside the home, striking four other officers. Four additional officers were also hit indirectly with either ricochets or shrapnel.

All nine officers that were injured have since been released from the hospital and continue to recover. The infant girl is said to be okay and is in DCS custody.
