A suspect wanted on a warrant dove through a home's glass window to try to flee Florida police last month, but instead of freedom, the man was arrested by officers waiting on the porch.

The incident happened at about 5:45 p.m. Sept. 13 when Sanford police responded to a call stemming from a man, identified as Marquis Thurton, who was wanted on an active warrant and wouldn't leave a house, the department stated in a social media post that included body camera footage. When officers reached the scene, Thurton quickly ran to the front of the house and crashed through the glass of a closed window.

But the suspect's escape was foiled by officers positioned on the front porch, where Thurton landead after diving through the window. An officer's body camera captured Thurton's ill-advised escape attempt.

Thurton was taken to the hospital and was later arrested following treatment. He faces multiple charges, including resisting an officer with violence and battery on a law enforcement officer.

This is another recent example of police facing a suspect who tried to get away by jumping through a closed glass window. On Oct. 1 in Oklahoma, an accused copper theif dove through a vacant's home window to flee an Oklahoma County sheriff's deputy.
