Texas Cop Returns Couple's Stolen Wedding Rings Hour Before Ceremony

Combing through video footage, a Lewisville police officer was able to locate and recover a couple's wedding rings after they had been stolen while they were doing last-minute shopping.

A newly married couple is thankful to a Texas police officer for recovering their stolen wedding rings and returning them hours before the ceremony last week.

The couple—Sam and Emery Bundywere doing some last-minute shopping Friday before their wedding when a woman switched carts with them, KTRK-TV reports. Emery Bundy's purse was stolen in the switch, and the thief made off with thousands in cash and the couple's wedding rings, which were heirlooms.

Lewisville Police Officer Charles Bonar, however, went through hours of surveillance to locate suspects. His detective work meant he was able to track down and identify the suspect.

"I was able to review vehicles matching the description of the suspect's vehicle and comb through those and found a tag," Bonar said.

The officer then was able to deliver the rings just before the Bundys tied the knot.

No charges were filed in the incident, because Emery Bundy told police she was happy just have the rings returned.
