BELLEVUE, WA — Icom America has been contracted by Levy County to supply, install, optimize and maintain an IDAS™ digital two-way radio system for its County agencies. Deployment of an Icom Digital Advanced System (IDAS) will occur during the 2013 calendar year to improve Levy County radio communications and support its initiatives. Levy County's new Icom system promotes interoperability, operational efficiency and accelerated response times
during emergencies.
The new IDAS NXDN™ Digital system was custom designed by Icom America and will improve wide area radio coverage over Levy County's unique topography, climate and various population centers. IDAS also enhances talkback capability in portable and mobile radios and provides seamless radio coverage across Levy County's
approximate 1,100 square miles (the sixth largest county
in Florida).
Icom's 6.25 kHz ultra-narrowband solution features digital audio clarity, 15-bit encryption and built-in voting technology that streamlines signal transmission and communication. The new Icom land mobile radio system offers flexible migration and scalable solutions to continually satisfy the communication requirements of Levy County.
