Tenn. Reserve Deputy Killed in Crash while Working Traffic Control

Maury County Sheriff's Department Reserve Deputy Brad Miller died in a crash while he was on traffic control duty at a bypass near Columbia.

A Tennessee sheriff's deputy was killed in a crash while on traffic control duty Monday.

Maury County Sheriff's Department Reserve Deputy Brad Miller was working traffic control near Columbia, WTVF-TV reports. No details were released concerning what led to the incident; the agency only announced at 6 p.m. that Miller had died.

"The Sheriff’s Department is saddened by the sudden passing of Reserve Deputy Brad Miller involved in a motor vehicle crash while working traffic on 43 By-Pass near Williamsport Pike," the department stated in a release.

Sheriff Bucky Rowland is expected to hold a press conference Tuesday morning to discuss the crash.
